There is currently a National Milk Carton Shortage, both 4oz and 8oz (half-pint) cartons. Just to be clear, there is not a shortage of fluid milk, but just the cartons the milk is placed in. Evergreen Paper, who is experiencing the shortages, is one of the dairy industry’s largest suppliers for milk cartons. We are being informed that normal carton inventory levels will not be able to be backfilled until the end of January 2024.
Therefore, all of cartons of milk that we will be purchasing from now until the end of January will be served in the elementary cafeteria. The MS/HS students will be offered milk through self serve beverage dispensers. This new process for distributing milk has started this week. MS/HS students will receive cups of milk with their lunch. All students will continue to receive milk with their lunches: The elementary will receive the traditional cartons of milk; and MS/HS will receive cups of milk.
PA Dept of Education has given permission, due to the emergency situation, to schools to utilize an alternate form of fluid milk or without fluid milk (ie. bottled water, juice) for the students if needed.
However, we are NOT experiencing a shortage of milk; it is just a shortage of the cartons.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me at cramsey@cfsd.info or (717) 485-7000.

The Spartan Marching Band will be participating in the Fall Folk Festival Parade on October 21st. You already know this! However...for the first time ever...we are inviting the Alumni to march with us. You will not need a uniform...all you need to do is contact Mr. Strine via the comments or gstrine@cfsd.info and he will gladly see that you receive the tune. We changed our march to "Oya Como Vas" by Santana. The only rehearsal would be the day of the parade. We would absolutely love to see as many alumni as possible. We can't provide any percussion except one bass drum and one tri....we can take anything else. This extends to alumni before Mr. Strine became band director....this is for anyone who has ever been in the band. It's a one in a lifetime chance to play again. Please spread the word around...would love to see as many "new" faces as possible.
August 31, 2023 Dear Parents/ Guardians, In being proactive, we will be hosting informative sessions as well as an assembly to educate our students on the appropriate use of social media. The goals are very straight forward; informing our students of the dangers and consequences of taking part in “sexting.” Many teens think that it is a part of a normal sexual relationship, or they are pressured into doing it. Sexting can have a lifelong negative effect on your physical, social and emotional well-being. Not only can “sexting” lead to social embarrassment and bullying, but it can also lead to other repercussions. In general, any nude or sexually explicit image or video of a minor is a crime, whether it is disseminated or not; To proactively address these issues, the Pennsylvania State Police will be speaking on the dangers of “sexting” and informing our students of the repercussions on Friday, September 8th. There will be two assemblies; one for Grades 5-8, and then one for Grades 9-12. Please read the section below and check the box if you do not want your child to attend the assembly and/or informative sessions. If you check the box “no” below, sign this form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than 9/6/2023. If you would like for your child to participate in this educational assembly and informative sessions, you do not have to return the attached form. We thank you for your support in teaching our students how to be safe on social media.

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
We are off to a great start, and we are settling in just perfectly. Again this year, our goal is to continue to keep the lines of communication open and to provide families with the support needed to make your child/children successful at Central Fulton School District. Because of grant funding, we have been able to continue:
1. Free Breakfast and Lunch for students–Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)
Program; This allows students to get one free breakfast and one free lunch per
day. It does not include free A La Carte items.
2. Free After 3 Program (after school homework/activity program) which will begin
Monday, September 18th in conjunction with the Family Partnership. The program
will run Monday - Thursday from 2:50pm until 5:30pm for the elementary. The
program will run Tuesday - Thursday from 2:50pm until 5:30pm for the MS/HS.
Due to limited space, we will be accepting students on a first come, first serve
basis. To register go to: https://forms.gle/n63Lje4CSkQP1pUd7 or to our District website (www.cfsd.info) to sign up for the After 3 Program
3. Central Fulton School District App. We hope this will keep you up to date with
events in the district.
Other important information to be aware of this year:
1. We have been approved once again to use Flexible Instructional Days (FID) as we have in the previous years when weather conditions did not allow for us to come into school physically. With this approval, we can provide online instruction while working at home for up to 5 days a year, if needed.
2. Our track has been repainted over the summer months.
McConnellsburg High School received the District V Sportsmanship Award for the 2022-23 school year.
3. We will be offering training for social media use/ sexting through an assembly and mini sessions for students in Grades 5-12. A passive consent letter will be going home with every student Grades 5-12 with more information. You only need to send the permission slip back if you DO NOT want your child to participate in the assembly/ mini sessions.
Let’s make this a fun-filled, educational year full of many memories! If you need anything, please feel free to reach out.
